Study of the Sun
The sun rises in the east – an every-day event that occurs everywhere. Sun rise symbolises the beginning of a new day, generates hope, floods my world with light, ushers warmth in a chilly morning, delights my mind, refreshes my mood, puts an end to darkness, astonishes me with its beauty, paints my world with vibrant colours, invigorates my soul, illuminates the day, lightens up my heart, inspires me, makes me reflect, brightens up my day, makes me wonder, creates rainbows and fills me with the sheer joy of being alive.

The same way the sun always rises and sheds light onto all of us after the dark and gloomy night, we must all understand that there always come bright, shining days after some dark time in our lives.

I had a lot of fun doing this assignment – going out early in the morning, feeling the morning freshness, and being inspired daily by the sun.

“I chose to photograph the sunrise because it is the most common every-day thing that happens and Debby once told us to find extraordinary things in ordinary things. The sun also symbolises hope and happiness. I guess it has something to do with the colour yellow for me.” – Anupama Dhamala
