Japanese “Comfort Women” Served US Soldiers

In images: Japan recruited its own comfort women for U.S. military use after World War II.

Japan forced about 200,000 Asian women to work as “comfort women” for the Japanese military during World War II.  However, little is known about the 70,000 Japanese comfort women recruited by Japan to serve American soldiers occupying the Land of the Rising Sun after its surrender in the war.
